Investigating the Effects of Caffeine on Brown Adipose Tissue Thermogenesis

06 November 2018

The study aims to increase knowledge about brown fat. Brown fat is a special fat tissue in the body which produces heat, by utilising the body's fat and glucose stores making it a promising target in anti obesity treatment. We are interested in whether caffeine effects how active brown adipose tissue is. To measure this we will use a digital thermal camera to image the shoulder and neck region; where brown fat is present in adults before and after caffeine.
